Position Title: C4D Consultant
- To continue provision of Technical Assistance to the communication unit of Provincial Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) in implementation of Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization (ACSM) initiatives to strengthen routine immunization and Community Engagement (RCCE) in Sindh. The consultant will continue to support in the implementation of the Communication Strategy for Routine Immunization (RI) and Risk Communication– through targeted advocacy, coordination with provinces, support in introduction of new vaccines, SIAs, creating EPI-PEI synergy at the Provincial level, supporting the Provincial Programme
- Support the province in roll-out of Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization (ACSM) activities around international days on immunization or any other activity suggested by provincial Expended Programme on Immunization (EPI) and document the resultant progress, lessons learned and best practices.
- Assist SBC Specialist – Health in facilitating health education training for government officials and Internal Personal Communication (IPC) trainings of frontline health workers working in coordination with provincial EPI.
- Coordinate and assist with CO SBC specialist UNICEF country office in implementation and reporting on Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) activities and introduction of new vaccines.
- Provide technical support to provincial EPI team to develop a communication action plan for urban immunization in partnership with selected Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
- Develop and support country to facilitate HCD Human Centered Design stories for EPI.
- Coordination, Collaboration and Partnership: support the government for smooth functioning of RCCE and cross sectoral coordination forums and strengthen it by identifying, developing and maintaining partnership and collaboration with relevant institutions.
- Capacity strengthening of the government and nongovernment partners, networks, and communities by adapting, developing, and pretesting training material/guideless and tools.
Qualifications and experience Consultant:
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Mass communication/journalism/Media studies/Social Sciences (*A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree).
- At least 2 years’ experience of working in Media/communication assignments (public and private)
- In-depth knowledge of community based social mobilization process and familiarity with Demand side issues of EPI.
- Working experience of public health related projects. Past experience of working with Immunization Programmes will be preferred
- Experience of Social & Behavior change interventions will be an added advantage
- Good written, oral and verbal Communication Skills with effective coordination capacity.
- Good command in English and fluency in local languages is a plus.
- Good computer skills with expertise in Microsoft office especially Word, Excel & Power point
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a local language is an asset.
