GENERAL JOB OBJECTIVE:

The Common Management Unit is a government organization, managing The Global Fund grants to implement AIDS, TB & Malaria care projects all over the country through public and private sector organizations. The Project Manager (Malaria) is responsible for implementation of the Global Fund HIV/AIDS grant activities as per the approved work plan detailed in budgeted workplan and performance framework. The incumbent will supervise all project activities, Sub-Recipient (SR) Organizations including ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all processes and reporting.
The Project Manager will support and facilitate the development of monthly & quarterly plans, quarterly reviews of SRs.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Manager works reports to the Programme Manager and works closely with HIV/AIDS technical, financial and procurement team.
To prepare detailed yearly implementation plan in consultation with relevant sections, partners and SRs and follow up with relevant sections, partners & SRs for the timely implementation of this plan.
The Project Manager ensures implementation of programme strategies with a focus on achievement, by supporting the operational delivery of the priorities identified by CMU management and the HIV Programme Manager.
To actively and frequently coordinate with PACPs and SRs  for the timely achievements of project targets
To provide guidance to SRs for the quality implementation of grant related activities.
Working closely with all stake holders on the issues of planning, linking programmatic and operational processes and ensuring reaching of planned deliverables;
Ensures that all project objectives are met in accordance with established and approved budgeted workplan and performance framework.
To prepare detailed yearly implementation plan in consultation with relevant sections, partners and SRs and follow up with relevant sections, partners & SRs for the timely implementation of this plan.
To review SRs monthly workplans and monthly progress reports and provide feedback
To carry out SR reviews against submitted Programmatic update/Disbursement request (PU/DR) in coordination with all the sections
Liaising with relevant national and international stakeholders
To coordinate with all the sections for the preparation of performance letter for the SRs
To compile and consolidate data for the preparation of HIV PU/DR to be submitted to Global Fund and facilitate Local Fund Agent (LFA) for its review
Support of the National Monitoring and Evaluation System;
Represent the HIV/AIDS programme in meetings at various forums

WORK INTERACTIONS:

Purpose: For guidance and provision of field trends on the desired indicators for technical and programmatic reports

Eligibility:

  • Qualification: MBBS ,MPH
  • Max Age: 50 Years
  • MBBS with Masters in Public Health from recognized university. Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in public health related projects. – 5-7 years’ experience in implementing and managing donor funded health project.
  • Skill Set :Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational and project management abilities with analytical, problem-solving skills is required. Excellent command in English language, grant proposal and report writing with good communication and presentation skills.
