Job description
The App Developer will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Liaison between the game development company, FDI, and UNICEF to establish clear lines of communication and ensure alignment of objectives.
- Coordinate regular meetings and discussions to review project status, address concerns, and make decisions regarding the application’s development.
- Conduct a thorough needs assessment to identify specific knowledge and skill gaps among EPI vaccinators and FLWs.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including FDI/EPI authorities, health organizations, and educational institutions, to garner support and endorsement.
- Develop TORs for Game development company in coordination with Digital SBC Officer and ICT team at PCO and support in process of hiring
- Develop detailed content modules covering vaccination basics, adverse event recognition and response, interpersonal communication, and vaccine cold chain management that need to be a part of the application
- Facilitate the exchange of information and feedback between stakeholders, including technical requirements, content guidelines, and user preferences.
- Oversee the Gamified Application design and development by the game development company, including but not limited to:
- Conversion of content into interactive gamified elements such as quizzes, challenges, and simulations to facilitate engaging and effective learning
- Integrated features such as progress tracking, virtual mentorship, real-time feedback, social learning, leadership boards and challenges, certification, and mobile compatibility into the application.
- Incorporation of adaptive learning mechanisms to personalize training experiences and track user progress.
- Ensuring continuous updates and improvements based on user feedback and evolving training needs.
- Develop a pilot phase plan, including pre-testing with selective user groups, for testing the application’s efficacy and gathering user feedback.
- Prepare rollout strategies for nationwide implementation, including download plan in NEIR devices already shared with FLWs and required partnerships for effective rollout and adaption.
- Establish evaluation mechanisms to measure the application’s impact on knowledge and skills enhancement among users.
- Monitor the implementation of project milestones and deliverables, tracking progress against established timelines and quality standards.
- Identify and mitigate any risks or challenges that may impact the development process, proactively seeking solutions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and reports to UNICEF on management of project progress, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement
Qualification and Experience Required
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in a relevant educational stream such as project management, public health, digital technology, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Public Health or other relevant areas of specialization such as social sciences, anthropology.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in Project management or coordination, trainings curriculum development, gamified applications content development, or digital solutions development.
- Technical Understanding: Understanding of technical concepts related to digital applications and gamification, is required.
- Project Coordination Experience: Proven experience in project coordination and management, preferably in the development of digital solutions or educational applications is required
- Previous Experience in Similar Roles: Previous experience in coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders, particularly in the context of digital solution development or public health initiatives, would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Public Health Sector: Understanding of the public health sector, particularly immunization programs and related initiatives, would be an asset. Familiarity with the challenges and dynamics of immunization programs in low-resource settings is desirable. Experience of working with a government department is an asset
- Demonstrate at least 2 relevant projects as reference
